From his early adventures as a gold miner in the Alaskan wilderness to his time spent studying music in northern India, Dominic followed an unlikely path to directing films. It was after a three-year stint in the jazz-fusion band, Rikshaw Quartet that he co-founded Rikshaw Films with bandmate Joel Weber. Over the years, he's become an Emmy Award winning director, successful television writer and busy director/producer of commercial video content. In addition, Dominic serves on the board of directors for the AICP MN chapter. With a rich background in documentary filmmaking, Dominic loves the hunt for a good story.
As a kid, Joel was awed by the gods of Hair Metal, so when at the age of 15 he got his first double-bass drum kit, there was no turning back. His musical tastes turned to jazz and he moved to Los Angeles to study percussion. After a busy decade touring with the jazz-funk trio Greyhounds, earning a degree in filmmaking and a Masters degree in international business, Joel co-founded Minneapolis based Rikshaw Films. He's gone on to become a successful Cinematographer with a strong body of credits in television, documentary film and commercial production.
Brendan’s childhood obsession with music and film has guided him to his dream job as a Director and Editor of film and video. That same childhood passion has led to a lifelong exploration of the marriage between sight and sound, with much of his work containing original music compositions and integrated sound design. His fluency of that audio-visual language is what leads him on every project, be it documentary storytelling, directing music videos, or breathing character into branded content. He lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota and he’s still watching movies and listening to records.
Matt went to school for video production, but discovered a love and and passion around food. Since then, he has spent his time around passionate, creative people in the twin cities and work together to tell their food stories. Styling is at it's best when the viewer conjures up what they can't touch and taste through visual storytelling– perfectly browned meats, glossy sauces, and inviting pops of contrasting color can all combine into something mouthwatering. Matt believes that food is universal, and brings us all together as a way of sharing our cultures, traditions, and who we are as people. Through media we get the amazing opportunity to inspire and expand those around us to love what they make and to look at food in a new and exciting way.
